The exploration led me to the African Disease Prevention Project , a non-profit organization associated with several universities. I decided to create the first high school branch of the organization; I liked its unique way of approaching health and social issues. Rather than just raising money and channeling it through third parties, each branch “adopts” one village and travels there to provide for its basic needs. As branch president, I organize events from small stands at public gatherings to 60-person dinner fundraisers in order to raise both money and awareness. The contents inside collectively represent everything about me in high school â€" they tell a story, one all about me. This is a college essay that worked for Cornell University. This is a college essay that worked for Duke University. So, I will forgive and forget, love and inspire, experience and satire, laugh and cry, accomplish and fail, live and die. This is how I want to live my life, with this optimistic attitude that every day is a second chance. Using equipment that a high school student could only dream of using, I was able to map apoptosis versus necrosis in HeLa cells, a cervical cancer line, after treating them with curcumin-bound nanoparticles. Using flow cytometry to excite each individually suspended cell with a laser, the scattered light from the cells helped to determine which cells were living, had died from apoptosis or had died from necrosis. Using this collected data, it was possible to determine if the curcumin and/or the nanoparticles had played any significant role on the cervical cancer cells. Later, I was able to image cells in 4D through con-focal microscopy. My branch has helped raise almost $3,000 to build water sanitation plants, construct medical clinics, and develop health education programs in the small village of Zwedru. The difference between ADPP and most other organizations is its emphasis on the basics and making changes that last. I’ve learned how to encourage my peers to meet deadlines, to work around 30 different schedules at once, and to give presentations convincing people why my organization is worth their donation. But overall, ADPP has taught me that small changes can have immense impacts.

Supplemental Application Essays

Supplemental Application Essays After years and years of being told what to think and the “right” questions to ask, I had retreated into intellectual paralysis. I would uncomprehendingly coast through my classes, molding my knowledge to fit the next quiz and promptly forgetting it afterwards. Clevenger is a motivated idealist who thinks that anything less than complete devotion to God, Country, and Duty is insane. Colonel Cathcart is a leader that cares more about his reputation for leading “the toughest” than he does about the well-being of his people. Stories of centuries ago would flit around us as her voice gave life to Orpheus, the musician, Prometheus, the maker of man, and Pan, the god of nature. If you flip through the book now, you can see the pages I gripped so tightly that they tore. After reading Lolita, my brother and I spent the following days dissecting every minute detail, trying to find some kind of understanding of Lolita. We searched together for insight, sat up late after dinner arguing about whether or not Humbert loved Dolores, and what the final meeting between Humbert and Dolores meant. I think we’ve all had a situation in which we have identified with the protagonist of this story and had experiences with people exemplified by the other characters in this book. Yosarian, the protagonist, is a man who looks at the world around him and wonders if he is the only sane person in an insane world. Hungry Joe can only get a peaceful night’s sleep while working mission lest being driven mad by idleness. Such a society is necessary if the poor are to overcome the effects of media and politicians made up of and owned by the wealthy. Catch-22 speaks to me because I don’t have the combat experience many people associate with military service. It spends most of its pages describing the time between combat, the little absurdities that make up the majority of time in the military, with very short bursts of action. A Pole reciting the opening of Pan Tadeusz is like an American reciting the Pledge of Allegiance. Its author, Adam Mickiewicz, is considered something of a literary god, somewhere between Dante and Shakespeare. Self-confidence is something I have struggled very long and hard with. I used to worry that I would stand outâ€"especially in school. School didn’t require, and at times, actively discouraged my insatiable desire to figure out the puzzles of the world, so I shoved that side of myself away and forgot that it even existed. This epic is not only a great bookâ€"it is the great book of Poland, as important and symbolic as the Vistula River that flows from the Polish mountains to the Baltic sea. Constitution, Poles are required to memorize sections of Pan Tadeusz, especially those which are thought to embody the core of what it means to be Polish. I share a cultural reference frame with Catch-22 that enriches the experience. In contrast, if my copy of Don Quixote didn’t have footnotes, I would be quite lost. Catch-22 by Joseph Heller, in addition to contributing to our modern language, is the most accurate depiction, I have encountered, of life in the Air Force. As absurd as the previous exchange was, it happened. Great literature forces the reader to identify with the characters. In times of strife, I would often revisit these myths, using them to process and understand the stress of my young life. To clarify, my response was not a result of any past trauma. My visceral reaction to Lolita remains a mystery to me. The words manifested in my body, and remain there today. I can’t look at it without a wave of nausea and fascination crashing over me. My experience of Lolita is intrinsically connected to the discussions I had with my brother. Lolita inspired in me a fervent hunger for discussion of truth. By the time high school rolled around, that girl was nowhere to be found. By using satire to infiltrate the minds that would not be receptive to direct anti-war messages, we allow the anti-war messages to form in the readers’ own heads. We allow people to see past what the media and authority figures have trained them to believe and instead think for themselves in their own self-interest. These seditious thoughts that break the myth of glory, and prevent unnecessary sacrifice are of great value if we are to have a society comprised of critical thinkers.

Tips For Great College Admission Essay Writing

Tips For Great College Admission Essay Writing The allegory is about a leaf that changes with the seasons, finally dying in the winter, realizing that his purpose was to help the tree thrive. After reading it, I was enlightened on the cycle of life and realized the tremendous impact my actions had on others. From growing HeLa cells to trying to kill them with different compounds, I was able to gain the hands-on experience necessary for me to realize once again why I love science. This past summer, I had the privilege of participating in the University of Notre Dame’s Research Experience for Undergraduates program . This is a college essay that worked for Harvard University. If a school offers multiple prompt options for the essay, don’t choose too quickly â€" think about how you would answer each prompt and choose the strongest option. I think my writer did an awesome job in a timely manner! I will not waste time for my life is already in flux. Yet I've realized that life is fickler than I had imagined; it can disappear or change at any time. The most important moment occurred during the night’s luminaria ceremony, during which cancer patients of the past and present were commemorated. Our whole team gathered around, and I asked people to share how they have been affected by cancer. This is a college essay that worked for Duke University. This is how I want to live my life, with this optimistic attitude that every day is a second chance. All the time, we have the opportunity to renew our perspective on life, to correct our mistakes, and to simply move on. Like the phoenix I will continue to rise from the ashes, experienced and renewed. Very good service I would return to have service done by the company. Pro tipâ€"Use personal details from your life that differentiate you from others. Working towards those changes to solve real life problems is what excites me. This is a college essay that worked for University of Pennsylvania . The Sonora Eagles were my means for dealing with the death of my loved ones to cancer. I was never fully aware of how closely humans rely upon each other until I read The Fall of Freddy the Leaf by Leo Buscaglia in freshman year. As branch president, I organize events from small stands at public gatherings to 60-person dinner fundraisers in order to raise both money and awareness. I’ve learned how to encourage my peers to meet deadlines, to work around 30 different schedules at once, and to give presentations convincing people why my organization is worth their donation. But overall, ADPP has taught me that small changes can have immense impacts. My branch has helped raise almost $3,000 to build water sanitation plants, construct medical clinics, and develop health education programs in the small village of Zwedru. The difference between ADPP and most other organizations is its emphasis on the basics and making changes that last. Several of my family members left this world in one last beating symphony; heart attacks seem to be a trend in my family. They left like birds; laughing one minute and in a better place the next.

Prior to reading the novel, I viewed individualism as an act of rebellion with little to no effect on the development of personality. I am still searching for a connection to him through performing and music. I am thankful his personal essay swayed my mother to choose him as my donor, and that his writing compelled me to discover and pursue all of my passions in the classroom and on the stage. When I was in second grade, I read the essay for the first time and learned the donor was a professional musician and an accomplished guitar player. Even with essay writing experience, it can be hard to frame a well-organized, comprehensive, thoughtful answer in 500 words or less. My father is a prime example of an individualist, and, for some time, I saw him as an outsider who found many ways to be critical of his environment. Moreover, our relationship has always been strained. Having read the novel I have learned to appreciate individualism as a philosophy. It taught me that there is no ending to a conversation, and no meaning without conversation. Martin Amis described this experience best, in his introduction to and essay on Lolita, “Clearly, these are not a scholar’s notes, and they move towards no edifice of understanding or completion. And I am running out of clean white space.” This is what I wish to be, I do not want to pretend to that kind of edifice, but rather be met every day by surprise. It is that surprise that I can see in the community at St. John’s. This knowledge was the catalyst for me to begin exploring my own musical abilities. I quickly learned to play the clarinet and joined the elementary school band. As soon as I was physically big enough to carry around a mini Fender electric guitar, I begged to take guitar lessons. Perhaps it was subconscious at the time, but while many of my elementary school friends were playing sports with their dads, I was looking for a way to connect to my donor through music.

Assistance On College Admissions Essays

Assistance On College Admissions Essays Participating in the Student Science Training Program and working in their lab made me feel like a kid in a candy store. Just the thought of participating in a project at this level of scientific rigor made me forget that this was supposed to be my summer break and I spent the first day eagerly examining every piece of equipment. At the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at State University, I will be able to do just that. In a department where education and research are intermixed, I can continue to follow the path that towards scientific excellence. Long-mesmerized by hobbies like my work with the FIRST Robotics team, I believe State University would be the best choice to continue to nurture my love for electrical and computer engineering. I have only scratched the surface in this ever evolving field but know that the technological potential is limitless. I, like State University, constantly work to explore the limits of nature by exceeding expectations. Long an amateur scientist, it was this drive that brought me to the University of Texas for its Student Science Training Program in 2013. Up to that point science had been my private past time, one I had yet to explore on anyone else’s terms. Participating for the first time in a full-length research experiment at that level, I felt more alive, more engaged, than I ever had before. Learning the complex dynamics between electromagnetic induction and optics in an attempt to solve one of the holy grails of physics, gravitational-waves, I could not have been more pleased. Do it yourself, but feel free to ask a friend who loves writing or English to read your essay and provide feedback. As a matter of fact, it’s best to ask a few different people. Everyone has an opinion, but if you hear the same critique from a number of individuals, then you should probably take their advice into consideration. The essay should be a personal journey of getting to know yourself better. Thus vindicated, my desire to further formalize my love of science brings me to State University. Thanks to this experience, I know now better than ever that State University is my future, because through it I seek another, permanent, opportunity to follow my passion for science and engineering. Please submit a one-page, single-spaced essay that explains why you have chosen State University and your particular major, department or program. I know from personal experience that in order to achieve the trust, honesty, and success that State University values, new people are needed to create a respectful environment for these values. I feel that my background as an American Sikh will provide an innovative perspective in the university’s search for knowledge while helping it to develop a basis for future success. And that, truly, is the greatest success I can imagine. You want to highlight yourself without sounding like a braggart. Don’t brag about your GPA or your standardized test scores. Although it is not long compared to some papers you have written by now, your essay must possess a depth of self-understanding that your high school research papers probably do not. Be sure to give yourself enough time to write a meaningful essay. Likewise, I feel that my time at State University would make my potential similarly limitless. In addition to just science, I am drawn to State University for other reasons. I strive to work with the diverse group of people that State University wholeheartedly accommodates â€" and who also share my mindset. They, like me, are there because State University respects the value of diversity. This process should not only be revealing to a college admissions representative, but to you as well. We write to discover, and the college essay should be a lens through which you can see yourself a bit more clearly. Don’t fill your essay with every single personal accomplishment. Even as a child I constantly sought it out, first on television with Bill Nye and The Mythbusters, then later in person in every museum exhibit I could find. Science in all its forms fascinated me, but science projects in particular were a category all to themselves. To me, science projects were a special joy that only grew with time. In fact, it was this continued fascination for hands-on science that brought me years later to the sauna that is the University of Alabama in mid-June.

9 Steps For Writing A Great Essay I check out too many books from the library and always bring them back overdue. I scribble notes on my hands and in my journals and find scraps of paper in my pockets. I am perpetually in love with hiking boots, the clunky kind. To me, “home” was a small room with a twin bed, a desk piled with yearbooks, magazines, newspapers, and a dresser covered in college flyers, polaroid photos, and an assortment of candles. Reflect on an idea or experience that makes you genuinely excited about learning. There is a 100-word minimum and a 250-word maximum for each essay. All first-year applicants will complete a few Yale-specific short answer questions. To my mom, however, “home” was where family met work â€" all her little worlds collided. Six years after she fled from Moldova to Cuba, she and my father headed for the U.S. by raft. My mother left her own family behind, but keeps the door open to those who seek to be a part of ours. Reluctantly, I realized I had to open my own door as well. Meet thecalculus readiness requirement, and demonstrate it by submitting an appropriate test score or transcript. My mom had become a therapist attending her clients’ hands and feet under a white-bulb lamp with watchful eyes and open ears. A man hurrying by bumped into my shoulder as I continued down the street, bringing my mind back to the present. 100 Awfully Good Examples of Oxymorons

An oxymoron  is a figure of speech, usually one or two words in which  seemingly  contradictory terms appear side by side. This contradiction is also known as a  paradox. Writers and poets have used it for centuries as a literary device to describe lifes inherent conflicts and incongruities. In speech, oxymorons can lend a sense of humor, irony, or sarcasm. Using Oxymorons The word oxymoron is itself oxymoronic, which is to say contradictory. The word is derived from two ancient Greek words oxys, which means sharp, and moronos, which means dull or stupid. Take this sentence, for example: This was a minor crisis and the only choice was to drop the product line. There are two oxymorons in this sentence: minor crisis and only choice. If youre learning English as a second language, you might be confused by these figures of speech. Read literally, they contradict themselves.  A crisis is defined as a time of serious difficulty or importance. By that measure, no crisis is unimportant or minor. Similarly, choice implies more than one option, which is contradicted by only, which implies the opposite. But once you become fluent in English, its easy to recognize such oxymorons for the figures of speech that they are. As the textbook author Richard Watson Todd said, The true beauty of oxymorons is that, unless we sit back and really think, we happily accept them as normal  English. Oxymorons have been used since the days of the ancient Greek poets, and William Shakespeare sprinkled them throughout his plays, poems, and sonnets. Oxymorons also feature in modern comedy and politics. The conservative political writer William Buckley, for instance, became famous for quotes like an intelligent liberal is an oxymoron. 100 Examples of Oxymorons Like other kinds of figurative language, oxymorons (or oxymora) are often found in literature. Causes of Imperialism Free Essays

Causes of Imperialism In the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, imperialism- a force of a greater nation that controls a smaller, weaker nation- began to take over many parts of the world in a frenzy. The more dominant countries at the time, such as the United States and many European countries began extending their influence to areas all over the world, from the Phillipines (which would be 56. 5% controlled) to the Africa (which would be 90. Document 3) England began showing signs of wanting to control other nations, because this meant that there would be more trade with other countries. Imperialism meant more trade with other countries, and more trade meant more money. The more money meant that the country had more money to invest in industrialization. Industrialization also meant that buyers and customers had to be found in which to sell their products- another benefit of imperialism. Lastly, raw materials could be obtained cheaply, as could cheap labor. Because the English were ? The machinerization of England’s factories did not only change England’s economy, it changed the world. They were the first in the entire world to experience things like materlialistic benefits, and social pricetags of industrialization. This had happened for several reasons. England had good transportation, an abundant labor supply, inventions that revolutionized the manufacturing of many products (mostly the textile industry), and a stable government. All of a sudden, factories were making hings so quickly, so efficiently, that more and more materials were needed. Although certain machines and inventions helped, it simply wasn’t enough. There was a very big piece of the manufacturing process missing, a piece that would improve England’s manufacturing even further. And that was the very concept of unlimited supplies. Supplies come at a very heavy price, so the idea of an unlimited source of supplies was a novel idea. The problem was where to get them from†¦ And imperialism was the answer. The ability to control country naturally weaker yet rich with resources was absolutely perfect, and important for the development of of the country. Africa was the perfect choice to begin with. It was rich in many natural resources such as gold, platinum, diamond, gas, oil, coal, water, and free labor which â€Å"lay ungarnered in Africa because the natives did not know their value. † (Document 1) ? The English also felt a moral obligation to help the natives, whom they saw as cannibals and infidels. The English felt that they were not only â€Å"unfit for elf-government† (Document 7) but also â€Å"degraded, ignorant, and swept by disease. † (Document 4) They would continue to look down on them, mistreat them, and use them as a labor force. They felt that they could not be left by themselves, and had no choice but to be ruled over by a higher force; in this case, the English. This is why the English ultimately ruled over Africa for so long. Overall, the English were the number one force of nationalism. This is due to industrialization and their strong sense of nationalism. How to cite Causes of Imperialism, Papers

Case Analysis Of Jason Learning Disability †MyAssignmenthelp.com

Question: Discuss about the Case Analysis Of Jason Learning Disability. Answer: Analysis of the case scenario suggests that the person Jason, a 29 years aged male, presents some variety of mental disorders. Upon his admission to the medium secure unit, a thorough analysis of the patients history suggests that he suffers from learning disability, and intermittent explosive disorder. Signs of depression are also observed in the patient. People with mental illness are often subjected to social stigma and discrimination that worsen their situation and make it difficult for them to recover. According to research studies, 1 in 4 people are likely to experience mental health problems at some point of their lives (Fazel and Seewald 2012). Furthermore, such mental health problems have also been found among 1 in 10 children globally (Reupert and Kowalenko 2013). Learning disabilities are neurological problems that interfere with the basic skills of learning suggest writing reading or calculating. These disabilities are often found to interfere with higher mental faculties such his time planning, organization, memory, abstract reasoning and attention (Cortiella and Horowitz 2014). Such disabilities have been found to create a negative impact on the academic of a person in addition to hampering his or her relationship with friends, family and workplace. Owing to the fact that the patient Jason suffers from learning disability since childhood, it can be stated that there is a gap between his potential and actual achievements (Geary 2013). Emotional regulation can often be defined as a complex process that encompasses initiation, inhibition and modulation of the mental state and behavior of an individual in response to a stimulus. These stimuli provoke subjective experiences such as feelings or emotions, followed by cognitive processes such as thoughts (Barlow, Allen and Choate 2016). An analysis of the case scenario suggests that Jason suffered from depression, which features em otional dysregulation. It makes him unable to regulate his emotional response with regards to provocative stimuli. This is established by his previous history of conflicts in relationship or perceived abandonment. This often contributes to the sudden bursts of anger and passive aggressive behavior that he manifests. According to the DSM-V criteria, emotional dysregulation is considered as an essential feature of a large number of psychological disorders. Presence of depressive symptoms in the person can be attributed to symptoms of loneliness and social withdrawal (Strang et al. 2012). Loneliness often includes anxious feelings regarding lack of communication or connection with other beans. Such lack of social connection can be directly linked to his antisocial or hostile behavior towards others. Depressive symptoms are confirmed by signs of social withdrawal and lack of interest to attend pleasurable activities (Martin, Neighbors and Griffith 2013). The fact that Jason always carries a nice and gives repeated threats to harm others can be correlated with presence of intermittent explosive disord er, which is characterized by sudden outburst of violence and anger that is disproportionate to the situation (Coccaro 2015). Such behavior is often triggered by inconsequential events and results in disproportionate reactions to real or perceives provocation. Therefore, there is a need to implement cognitive behavioral therapy, Dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) and psychotropic medications to improve the overall health and well-being of the person. The therapy is aimed towards helping people suffering from borderline personality disorder and mood disorders, by changing thoughts related to self harm to others or suicidal ideations (Linehan et al. 2015). It will increase the cognitive and emotional regulation of the person by gaining information about the triggers and underlying factors that contribute to search inappropriate reactive states (McMain et al. 2012). It will further help in assessing the coping skills that need to be applied to avoid such undesirable behavior. On the other hand, cognitive behavioral therapy such as cognitive relaxation and coping skills therapy will help in counteracting panic anxiety and anger, thereby treating intermittent explosive behavior. The intervention plan that will be device for the treatment of Jason will keep in consideration his presenting signs and symptoms, and the predisposing factors that might have increased his likelihood of getting affected with mental disorder. The common symptoms that he manifests include escalating patterns of sudden aggressive behavior such as using a knife to threat members of the community. Therefore, in order to treat presence of intermittent explosive behavior and depression, cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavioral therapy will prove most effective. According to the DSM-5 diagnosis, depressed mood is characterized by subjective reports of feeling sad, hopeless or empty throughout the day. It is also marked by diminished pleasure or interest in daily activities, accompanied by psychomotor retardation or agitation (Copeland et al. 2013). DBT will focus on accepting and healthy and uncomfortable behavior and will help Jason to acknowledge that most of his self-destructive or depressing behaviors are inappropriate. A person suffering from major depressive disorder often experiences feelings of worthlessness, which in turn creates an overwhelming atmosphere of sadness that invalidate all aspects of their life (Harned et al. 2012). Therefore, the primary aim of this intervention is to reduce negative behaviors and modulates extreme emotions, which contributes to depression (Miller, Carnesale and Courtney 2014). Moreover, it will allow the patient to trust self-thoughts, emotions and activities. The proposed intervention includes conduction of dialectical behavior therapy for 1 hour, twice a week for 8 months, and coping skills therapy for 6 months. Establishing a good rapport with the patient is the primary criteria of providing the intervention as it will help in fostering an efficient therapeutic relationship. The background of the patient including his job information, his childhood, education and personal history will be collected, in order to formulate a better diagnosis plan. Effective communication can be initiated by making direct eye contact, and using appropriate hand gestures and nonverbal communication skills (Morse et al. 2012). Showing an authentic interest in the concerned patient and picking up on cues from his responses will also help in identification of issues other than the main problem. In addition to using appropriate communication skills, active listening will also facilitate establishment of a good rapport. Furthermore, it will help in miscommunication or misinterpretation. The dialectic behavioral therapy includes the following steps- Mindfulness- This is the basic foundation of the therapy as it assists an individual to tolerate and accept all powerful emotions that appear while challenging certain habits or getting exposed to upsetting situations. The therapist will assist Jason to pay attention to the present moment, in a non-judgmental manner, while experiencing his senses and emotions to the maximum level. Jason will also be made more aware of senses related to smell touch taste sight and sound (Mehlum et al. 2014). Emotional regulation- This skill will create opportunities for identifying obstacles that prevent demonstration of appropriate emotion. It will also help in reducing vulnerability to the emotion mind and will increase mindfulness and positive approach to emotional events. It will help the patient to correctly interpret an event with appropriate use of body language sensation and action. A counselor will also be required while conducting this module of the therapy (Essau et al. 2012). The counselor will provide assistance in making the patient understand the ill effects of the drugs on physical and mental health. Distress tolerance- This is the third module of the therapy, which will allow the patient to respond or deal appropriately to distressing circumstances such as serious illness, traumatic events, financial loss, or death of beloved people. It will help the patient to learn the way of bearing pain skillfully. This in turn will enhance the ability to accept such situations in a non-judgmental and non-evaluative manner. Interpersonal effectiveness- This will focus on enhancing problem solving skills and increasing assertiveness. All the patients suffering from intermittent explosive disorder or depression possess good interpersonal skills. However, they often fail to apply these skills in current situation. The module will focus on situations related to changing an objective or to resisting changes. It will make Jason show an inclination to contact his family members, rather than avoiding them (Bedics et al. 2012). Jason will be provided with homework when he would have to pick specific problem sir behaviors from the provided list, and will have to identify the pros and cons of either acting on or resisting the urges. This will help in determining effectiveness of the therapy. Due to the fact that aggressive behavior can lead to an intended or serious consequences, coping skills therapy will be implemented in this case scenario to help Jason adapt himself to cope or mitigate with his reactions. Jasons aggressive behavior can be attributed to his upbringing, relationship with family, being bullied at school and work difficulties. These results in the explosive behavior that makes him demonstrate harm towards self and others. Such overtly confrontational antisocial behavior can be correlated with his previous history of stealing and physical aggression (Coccaro 2012). Lack of proper parenting is also another major contributing factor. The coping skills therapy will focus on the following skills- Practicing relaxation techniques- This will help Jason to manage his anger by participating in techniques such as diaphragmatic breathing, progressive muscle relaxation and meditation. Involving the diaphragm muscle of the abdomen while breathing, will help in reducing stress and anxiety. Progressive muscle relaxation will make the person coordinate between relaxing and sensing a variety of muscle groups in the body. Meditation will also help in achieving equilibrium, thereby balancing between emotions and gaining a mastery over thoughts and feelings (Meuret et al. 2012). Self-monitoring thoughts- This will help the patient to closely monitor thoughts and feelings with regards to the determined standard, which in turn will help in correlating the actions. It will also involve homework when Jason will be made to measure his thoughts in relation to social circumstances, and then compare them with behavior that should be displayed during such instances. Setting and managing goals- Having a goal or objective in life helps in giving a purpose or direction. This skill will motivate the patient to focus on improving his life and accomplish his goals in future. It will help him in setting appropriate objectives with a directed vision, without getting stressed. This in turn will improve his mood, and quality of life, by reducing hostile attitude and anger. Cognitive restructuring- This module will help in identifying and learning maladaptive or irrational thoughts, commonly referred to as cognitive distortions. It will focus on emotional reasoning, magical thinking and all or none thinking. This will help in preventing extreme thoughts in the person. A counselor will play an important role while implementing this module, by helping Jason identify his irrational beliefs that affect his behavior as well as emotions (Salloum and Overstreet 2012). The homework for this therapy would include coping skills exercise where Jason will be made to list a minimum of 5 instances when he felt like procrastinating, comforting himself, or showing violent behavior towards the receiver. He will be made to circle the coping skills that he considers counterproductive or an healthy, and will also be made to suggest healthier alternatives. This will determine positive implications of the administered therapy. In addition, physician will be consulted for administration of atypical antidepressant drugs such as aripripazole, citalopram or bupropion for preventing recurrence of his depressive symptoms. Several challenges and ethical considerations that might arise while caring for Jason include his low self esteem and unwillingness to participate. Presence of depressive symptoms often makes a person show apathy, which might make him reluctant to get treated. He might fail to understand the rational of the aforementioned two therapies, and may resort to violence attitude. Therefore, effective interpersonal skills and showing sensitivity towards the patient is needed. The primary strength of dielectric behavioral therapy lies in the fact that several randomized control trials have been conducted which have determined its effectiveness for treating borderline personality disorder and depression. The aforementioned mental diseases are severe and persistent in most people. Implementation of this therapy among such patients has shown long-term adherence and compliance in the target population. Recent findings have suggested that this behavioral therapy is successful in addressing the problematic behaviors manifested by patients, and help in elimination of abnormal mental state (Pistorello et al. 2012). According to research findings, use of DBT in combination with medication produces even better results. According to several research studies, combining the therapy with atypical antipsychotic medications such as olanzapine helps in reducing depression, impulsivity, and anxiety among patients, and also shows and improvement in treatment adherence. Effec tiveness of the therapy has been established by other studies conducted in outpatient settings as well, where the therapy has shown significant positive impacts in reducing suicidal ideation, and depression (Bedics et al. 2012). Similar findings have been reported other randomized control trials, where the therapy has been proved effective in eliminating signs and symptoms of hopelessness, social withdrawal, and para-suicidal behavior. However, the major limitation is associated with the fact that most of the available research that investigated effectiveness of the therapy had been conducted on small sample sizes, and focused on specific sectors of mental health population. Therefore, there is a need to evaluate whether the therapy is effective for people suffering from different mental health disorders. Moreover, most studies were conducted by doctoral level students or highly educated professionals, which indicate an intensive training is required before implementing the therapy on patients (Mehlum et al. 2014). Furthermore, there is a lack of follow-up interview in the trials that have been conducted. Hence, long-term benefits of the therapy are not yet established. Moreover, the therapy is a demanding p rocess and required patients to spend several hours during his conduction. Patient suffering from depression shows reluctance to its implementation. In addition, the therapy focuses on the approach that can be implemented up on patients who are ready to acknowledge their illness and show compliance during the therapy sessions. Hence, any form of hesitance from the patient might lead to misleading results. On the other hand, several studies have been carried out that have established effectiveness of the coping skills therapy. It has proved effective in increasing the ability to tolerate various forms of uncertainty during explosive disorder or depression. According to research trials, this therapy often leads to avoidance of situations that can make a person procrastinate or delay taking action. Another benefit is associated with the fact that it impacts the ability to recognize rumination or repeated botherations about a thought, by influencing the person to attempt problem solving (Hayes 2016). Research findings also suggest that this therapy helps in blocking out distressing thoughts, reduce intensity, and lower rates of intermittent explosive behaviour. Further benefits are related with the ability to identify thought distortions, such as, negative predictions or personalizing, which often contribute to such explosive attitude. The skills employed by this therapy have shown positive impacts in increasing will power, reducing avoidance coping, and preventing violent behavior (Rector and Beck 2012). Research studies also suggest that the therapy not only eliminates anxiety and panic behaviour, but also enhances self-improvement motivation. However, the major limitation is associated with the fact that not much research trials have been conducted to determine effectiveness of this therapy among people suffering from mental problems, in addition to learning disability. Furthermore, at times it may often overlook troubling issues, related to personal history or family (Collins, Woolfson and Durkin 2014). While the administration of atypical antidepressants might help in preventing recurrence of depressive disorder, certain side effects such as, insomnia, blurred vision, dry mouth, weight gain, increased appetite, fatigue, and nausea may be observed. Thus, a critical evaluation of Jason's case scenario suggests that dielectric behavioral therapy and coping skills cognitive behavioral therapy will be most effective in providing relief and improving his mental health status.
